Meet some of the MTTA Church Multiplication Team!

Here’s a cool picture of Pastor Ismail Pereira, pastor of Igreja Batista Internacional de Fall River and our MTTA Brazilian Church Planting Coordinator. He leads the amazing MTTA church-multiplication movement among Brazilians. Here he’s part of a glorious “Gospel float” in the Hyannis (Cape Cod) July 4th parade - down the main street!

On the (truck) float, young people sang and played for hours, representing JESUS – and Brazilian Baptist churches.  It was HOT, but the big crowds loved it!

These gifted youth represent so many devoted workers in the church, always reaching out in ways you’d never expect. It pays off – in churches multiplying one after another. Your prayers and support make it happen. THANKS!

PRAYER and PRAISE Requests - the BOTHWELLS

July/August 2006

Mission to the Americas (MTTA) Church Planting:

1)  PRAISE:  A new Brazilian church is being started in Everett, MA, with Pr Neudemir Borges leading.  This is the 5th Portuguese-speaking church in 4 years, each growing from the ones before!

2)  PRAYER: Pray for Torli Krua and his father Mahn Krua, Liberian refugee church planters here. Mahn’s wife, Esther, recently died from kidney failure. PRAY for God’s comfort for the family as they grieve – and courage to keep moving on.

URBACAD (Boston Urban Academy):

1)  PRAISE: There is new interest in an older church in Fall River for re-starting the URBACAD Ministry Training program. This could be the beginning of some radical, renewing change.

2)  PRAYER: Ming Ji, an URBACAD student, returned to China to visit his family in April. He went this time with a new bride and a new life in Christ!  PRAY that he represented Jesus well to his family in these new encounters, and moved them toward faith.

PERSONAL/FAMILY:

1)  PRAISE: Our adopted daughter Kristin (25) just returned from a great visit to Brazil – for meeting her birth mother and oh, so many new relatives. We all now have more family – wow!

2)  PRAYER:  Karin (18) is going to Georgetown Univ (in DC) in the fall. PRAY for discernment, good sense, and courage for her in getting settled.  Amelia (22) is applying to medical schools and taking the MCAT test in August. Such big stress – please PRAY!
